CHEM 1110¨ - General Chemistry I


A comprehensive study of chemical principles designed for students pursuing a career in chemistry or other scientific areas. Emphasis will be on atomic structure, bonding, formulas, equations, nomenclature and stoichiometry. Also included are states of matter, hybridization, and molecular geometry. The laboratory will consist of a number of quantitative experiments designed to teach basic techniques including the use of laboratory instrumentation.  (Same as RODP CHEM 11l0)

PREREQUISITES: One year of high school chemistry or CHEM 110 or CHEM 1030 with a grade of C or better, Academic Assessment with ALL Developmental Studies requirements completed. MATH 1130, 1710, or higher.
COREQUISITES: MATH 1130, 1710, or higher. (Same as RODP CHEM 11l0)
Hours: Three lecture, three laboratory hours per week.
General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
