EMT 151* - Basic Telecommunicator A study in standardized public safety communications. Topics address telephone call-taking, radio broadcast rules and procedures, call prioritization, and interpersonal communications. The course will update existing personnel in current standards and set the standard for performance in dispatch agencies.
Hours: Three lecture hours per week and 20 hours of outside experience will be required. Repeated: May be repeated for credit. Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
