VET 205 - *Microbiology for Veterinary Technicians This course covers fundamentals of the role of microorganisms responsible for disease in animals. Emphasis will be placed on collection of specimens for culture and the isolation and identification of pathogenic organisms. Bacteriological and aseptic techniques are emphasized in the laboratory.
Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall Prerequisites: BIOL 1010 or BIOL 1030 or BIOL 1110 , and VET 110 with a grade of C or higher and formal admission to the Veterinary Technician program. Corequisites: VET 205 Laboratory Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours, 30 lab hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution.
