CRMJ 1381 - *Interview and Interrogation


This course has two distinct sections. The first section of the course focuses students on becoming successful interviewees and interviewers. Students will study the techniques utilized in successful professional job interviews to obtain employment. These techniques focuses on word choice, speech, dress, body language and resumes. Students will also study how to conduct a successful interview and obtain factual information. The second section focuses on the techniques utilized in interviewing victims, witnesses and subjects of interrogations. Topics include preparation and strategy, legal aspects, interpretation of verbal and physical behavior, causes of denial, interviewing, establishing credibility, reducing resistance, obtaining the admission/confession, and the use of technological equipment. Upon successful completion of this course and certification test, students will receive an ACFI (Associate Certified Forensic Interviewer) certification. This certification is good for five years and is highly sought after in fields such as law enforcement, accounting, loss prevention and human resources.

This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
