Computer Information Technology - A.A.S.

The Computer Information Technology degree is designed to prepare our students for work in the growing sector of Information Technology.  The curriculum includes courses that will lead to industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Networking+, Server Administration and Security+.  Students will be prepared to work in supporting capacity within the computer environment.  Duties performed include network installation, assisting in systems analysis and design, and database management.  The graduate could be expected to assume responsibilities by titles including Entry Level Programmers, Computer Operators, Local Area Networks Administrator, Support Specialist, or Computer Technician.

Computer Literacy Requirement:  Students in this degree program must prove Computer Literacy during the first semester of study.  See www.volstate.edu/ComputerLiteracy/


There are two concentrations within this program from which to choose:

Option One - Networking Concentration

Option Two - Programming Concentration
