MECH 1310 - *Electrical Components


A study of the basic electrical components in a mechatronic system.  Topics include basic functions and physical properties of electrical components; the systematic flow of energy and measurement of components; troubleshooting techniques and strategies to identify, localize and correct malfunctions; and systematic preventive maintenance and electrical component safety.  Technical documentation such as data sheets, schematics, timing diagrams and system specifications will also be covered.

Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall (Gallatin), Spring (Gallatin, Cookeville)
Contact Hours: 30 lecture hours, 30 lab hours per semester
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
