GEOL 1040 - ^Physical Geology This course is an introduction to the physical geology of the earth including composition, structure and evolution. Laboratory and field experiences involve rock and mineral identification, along with map and field interpretation of geologic structures.
Credit in GEOL 1030 cannot be combined with GEOL 1040 or to satisfy graduation or general education requirements.
Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall Prerequisites: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading, acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Writing or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 0810 as determined by placement and an ACT Math subscore of 19 (or equivalent) or completion with a grade of C or higher of MATH 1005 , MATH 1130 , or higher. Corequisites: GEOL 1040 Laboratory Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours, 30 field/lab hours per semester General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
