CHEM 1030 - ♦Fundamentals of Chemistry A one semester introductory course designed to provide a broad overview of chemical principles including measurements, atomic theory and bonding, chemical symbols, formulas and equations, inorganic and organic compounds, acid-base theory, and the biochemical highlights of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids and metabolism.
PREREQUISITES: An acceptable placement score or completion of Learning Support competencies in Reading, Writing and Math.
PRE- or CO-REQUISITES: MATH 1000 or MATH 1005 or any MATH course with a prerequisite of MATH 1000 or MATH 1005.
Hours: Three lecture, two laboratory hours per week. General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements. Credits: (4)
