MLAB 2403 - *Clinical Microbiology


This course examines the study of microorganisms of medical importance as it relates to man and disease. The course includes discussions of proper collection, handling and examination of specimens, staining and culture techniques, identification methods, drug sensitivity testing, and quality control procedures.

Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Summer
Prerequisites: Formal admission to the MLT program
Corequisites: MLAB 2403L
Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours, 30 lab hours per semester

Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
