VET 105 - *Large Animal Medical Nursing This course focuses on the management, husbandry and general health care of animals used in agriculture. This course will provide an introduction to nutrition, breeds, proper housing and relevant physiology will be covered. Special emphasis will be placed on handling procedures, common illnesses, physical examination, delivery of medications and other procedures typical of food animal veterinary practice.
Prerequisites: Formal admission to the Veterinary Technician Program. Corequisites: VET 105L Contact Hours: Two lecture hours per week Laboratory Hours: Two laboratory hours per week Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
