RESP 1410 - *Fundamentals of Respiratory Care I This course introduces the student to the respiratory care profession. Topics covered include professional organizations, licensure, terminology, medical gas therapy, humidity and aerosol therapy, pharmacology, cleaning and sterilization, isolation techniques, and basic patient assessment.
Semester Availabilty: (Subject to Change) Spring Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Respiratory Care Program. Corequisites: RESP 1310 , RESP 2440
Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours/ 30 laboratory hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
