VET 205 - *Microbiology for Veterinary Technicians This course covers fundamentals of the role of microorganisms responsible for disease in animals. Emphasis will be placed on collection of specimens for culture and the isolation and identification of pathogenic organisms. Bacteriological and aseptic techniques are emphasized in the laboratory.
Semester Availabilty: (Subject to Change) Fall Prerequisites: BIOL 1010 and VET 110 with a grade C or higher and formal admission to the Veterinary Techician program Corequisites: VET 205L
Contact Hours: 3 lecture hours and two laboratory hours per week Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
