DAST 1530 - *Clinical Chairside I This course covers the study of general dentistry and the foundation of clinical chairside assisting. The course includes infection control, dental-related environmental hazards, management of dental and medical emergencies and emphasis placed on skills in the clinical setting, to include charting, effective communication with patients and members of the dental team.
Semester Availabilty: (Subject to Change) Fall Prerequisites: Admission into the Dental Assisting Program. Contact Hours: 3 lecture hours per week Laboratory Hours: 2 laboratory hours per week Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
