ENGL 2055 - ^African American Literature


This course includes reading representative and significant works by African-American writers. Poems, stories, novels, memoirs, and songs are examined for their insight into African-American life and thought as well as themes and experiences common to human existence. Cultural and creative expression is analyzed within its social and historical contexts.

Semester Availabilty: (Subject to Change) Fall and Spring
Prerequisites: ENGL 1020  
Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours per semester
General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
