MATH 1005 - *Algebra Essentials This course includes factoring and operations with rational, polynomial, and radical expressions, analysis of quadratic functions and graphs, solving compound inequalities, as well as solving quadratic, rational, absolute value, and radical equations. The course is designed to prepare the student for algebra intensive courses. It will not satisfy the general education requirement in mathematics. (Same as TN eCampus MATH 1005)
Prerequisites: ACT Math subscore of 19 (or equivalent), or completion of Learning Support Competencies 1-5, or concurrent registration in MATH 0105 . Contact Hours: Three lecture/laboratory hours per week Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
