ECON 2100 - ^Principles of Macroeconomics


This course introduces the economic dilemma, supply and demand, and the roles of major sectors within the economy.  The course explores the process of national income and output determination and the use of monetary and discretionary fiscal policies to control inflation and unemployment. Keynesian economics, the Monetarist School, and modern classical macroeconomics are examined and compared.  [This course was previously ECO 211.]   (Same as TN eCampus ECON 2010)

Prerequisites: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading and Writing and completion of MATH 1005 , MATH 1010 , or MATH 1530 .
Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours per semester
General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
