VET 215 - *Small Animal Medical Nursing


This course provides an overview of the diseases commonly encountered in veterinary practice.  The course will stress nursing and diagnostic techniques utilized in the management of hospitalized patients, including education of clients.  Diseases with a potential for zoonosis or creating health hazards for the local population will be emphasized. This course will also include review for the VTNE.

Semester Availability:  SPRING ONLY - Semester Availability is subject to change.  See your advisor. 

Prerequisites: VET 101  and VET 110  (both with a grade of C or higher)
Corequisites: VET 215L

Contact Hours: Two lecture hours per week
Laboratory Hours: Two laboratory hours per week
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
