PSCI 200P - *Science Practicum

Students will engage in Service Learning activities with local area Middle Schools in a cooperative learning environment. These activities will include weekly scheduled student centered laboratory sessions for developing science activities to be delivered in local Middle Schools. Students will then present their developed activities in partner middle schools on a scheduled basis. Students will experience cooperative learning, increase their understanding of chemical principles, and develop new laboratory skills.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of at least one university-parallel laboratory science course and faculty recommendation
Contact Hours: Average of five lecture/lab hours per week.
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs

This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
