MECH 1200 - *Mechanical Component and Electrical Drives This course is a study of the basic mechanical components and electrical drives in a mechatronics system. Topics covered will include basic functions and physical properties of mechanical components and electrical AC and DC drives; materials, lubrication requirements and surface properties; troubleshooting techniques and strategies to identify, localize and correct malfunctions; and systematic preventative maintenance and electrical component safety. Technical documentation such as data sheets and specifications of mechanical elements and electrical drives will also be covered.
COREQUISITES: MECH 1200L Hours: Two lecture, two laboratory hours per week Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
