VTA 100 - *Introduction to Veterinary Anatomy


This course parallels a vertebrate zoology course focusing on aspects of anatomy and physiology that have clinical relevance for animal caregivers, animal lab researchers and veterinary practice.  Companion, agricultural (large), laboratory and exotic species will be covered with reference to human physiology where applicable.  Virtual dissection during the course will culminate in a dissection lab at the end of the semester.

Course may be offered through TN eCampus.

PREREQUISITES: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Writing, Reading, and Math Learning Support Competencies or completion of MATH 0105 , MATH 1005 , MATH 1130 , MATH 1710  or higher with a grade of C or higher.
Hours: Three lecture/laboratory hours per week
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
