PARA 1530* - Special Populations

 A course designed to instruct emergent health care interventions in the pre-hospital environment.  Emphasis focuses on patients with special needs who may be being cared for at home or in long term care facilities.  Special needs patients and geriatrics considerations are thoroughly discussed.  Handling and transporting specialty home care equipment such as respirators and infusion pumps compose the fundamental skill component of the class.

PREREQUISITES: PARA 1030*. 
COREQUISITES: PARA 1500*, PARA 1510*, PARA 1520*, PARA 1540C*.
Hours: One lecture hour per week.
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs.  This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
