PARA 1520* - Advanced Trauma Care
A study of the management of common traumatic emergencies in accordance with accepted national standard as prescribed by the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) guidelines. Emphasis is on the recognition of potential problems related to mechanism of injury and kinematics with discussions of Medical Incident Command.
PREREQUISITES: PARA 1020*. COREQUISITES: PARA 1500*, PARA 1510*, PARA 1530*, PARA 1540C*. Hours: One lecture hour per week. Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
