PARA 1500* - Paramedic Theories II (Trauma Emergencies)
Advanced theories for paramedic practice and treatment modalities based on normal physiology of human body systems and how these systems are related during environmental, traumatic injuries, and hazardous exposures. Emphasis is on situations routinely encountered in day-to-day EMS operations with a focus on traumatic emergencies. Discussions include supervisory concepts, scene management, medical incident command, special rescue considerations, and hazardous material awareness.
PREREQUISITES: PARA 1000*. COREQUISITES: PARA 1510*, PARA 1520*, PARA 1530*, PARA 1540C*. Hours: Six lecture hours per week. Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
