PARA 1030* - Paramedic Fundamentals I


An introduction to the psychomotor skills commonly used in the prehospital setting.  Applying knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology as well as treatment modalities to the acquisition of psychomotor skills focused on medical scenarios utilizing the simulation manikins and lab.  Skills to be covered during this course include, but are not limited to:  endotracheal intubation, defibrillation, cardioversion, transcutaneous pacing, and EKG Interpretation. 

PREREQUISITES: Selection into the Paramedic Program. 
COREQUISITES: PARA 1010*, PARA 1020*, PARA 1040*, PARA 1050C*.
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs.  This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
