HIT 250* - Legal Aspects of Health Information This course is designed to assist students with an understanding of the legal principles that govern the health information field. Emphasis is placed on concepts and principles of the law, the health record as a legal document, confidentiality, informed consent, release of information and current trends in health legislation.
PREREQUISITES: HIT 115* Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
