HIT 215* - Classification Systems – CPT A study of the descriptive terms and identifying codes for reporting medical services and procedures performed by physicians and outpatient facilities according to the latest version of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT). Laboratory experiences will emphasize application of the CPT coding manual through the use of a computerized encoding system.
PREREQUISITES: HIT 212*. Hours: Three lecture, two laboratory hours per week. Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
