FST 102* - Hazardous Materials I

Basic methods of recognition and identification of hazardous materials based on the chemical and physical properties of hazardous materials and the basic safety procedures when utilizing specific types of protective equipment. Discussion includes the basic tactical concerns relating to scene management of a hazardous material incident.

Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
