EMT 121* - Introduction to Pre-Hospital Emergency Pharmacology
An introduction to emergency pharmacology as outlined in the Tennessee EMT extended skills curriculum. Emphasis is on drug classifications, actions, indications, contraindication, dosages, and routes of administration. Federal and State drug laws, pharmacological sources, and first-line advanced cardiac life support agents are reviewed.
COREQUISITES: EMT 101*, EMT 101C*, EMT 104*. Hours: Two lecture hours per week. Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
