COMM 1010 - Intro to Mass Communication

Examines the media as a social institution by providing an overview of print, electronic and computer-based media forms and reviewing the role of the media in society and its effects on culture. The course also teaches media literacy and criticism skills. [This course was previously COM 110.]

PREREQUISITES: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading and Writing.
