MATH 1710♦ - Precalculus I (College Algebra) Designed as a course for students who plan to major in mathematics and/or science and are not prepared to take calculus. Topics include polynomials, factoring, fractions, radical expressions, rational exponents, complex numbers, linear and quadratic equations and their applications, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, determinants, and the binomial theorem. (Same as RODP MATH 1710)
PREREQUISITES: An acceptable placement score, DSPM 0850 with a grade of B or better, MATH 1000 with a grade of B or better, MATH 1005 with a grade of B or better or successful completion of MATH 1130.
General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements. Credits: (3)
