MUS 101 - Music Theory I

A basic course in the fundamentals of music: note values and meter, pitch notation, major and minor scales, intervals, and triads. The laboratory component encompasses beginning sight-singing and melodic and harmonic dictation, principles of rhythmic dictation and application of keyboard skills.

PREREQUISITES: MUS 100 or satisfactory completion of Theory Placement Exam.
