EMT 217* - Geriatrics and Home Care Interventions

A course designed to instruct emergent health care interventions in the pre-hospital environment. Emphasis focuses on patients being cared for at home or in long term care facilities. Special needs patients and geriatrics considerations are thoroughly discussed. Handling and transporting specialty home care equipment such as respirators and infusion pumps compose the fundamental skill component of the class.

Hours: Two lecture hours per week.
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
