DAST 1530 - *Clinical Chairside IThis course covers the study of general dentistry and the foundation of clinical chairside assisting. The course includes infection control, dental-related environmental hazards, management of dental and medical emergencies and emphasis placed on skills in the clinical setting, to include charting, effective communication with patients and members of the dental team. Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Dental Assisting Program Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours, 30 lab hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution.
