EMSP 1801 - *Fundamentals of Paramedic IFundamentals of Paramedic I is the first of two lecture courses to include the following topics: paramedic roles, responsibilities, workforce safety, wellness, public health, communications, documentation, EMS operations, medical/legal considerations, anatomy and physiology, life span development, general pathophysiology, general pharmacology, patient assessment, critical thinking, airway management, respiratory emergencies and introduction to cardiology. Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall, Spring, Summer Prerequisites: Formal admission to the Paramedic program Corequisites: EMSP 1401 and EMSP 1311 Contact Hours: 120 lecture hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution.
