MATH 1005 - *Algebra Essentials


This course includes factoring and operations with rational, polynomial, and radical expressions, analysis of quadratic functions and graphs, solving compound inequalities, as well as solving quadratic, rational, absolute value, and radical equations.  The course is designed to prepare the student for algebra intensive courses. It will not satisfy the general education requirement in mathematics. (Same as TN eCampus MATH 1005)

Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall, Spring, Summer
Prerequisites: ACT Math subscore of 19 (or equivalent), or completion of Learning Support Competencies 1-5, or concurrent registration in MATH 0105 .
Contact Hours: 45 lecture/lab hours per semester
