ISCI 1030 - ^Science, Society and SustainabilityThis course is a survey of scientific methods and theories that can be used to understand and evaluate: basic earth sciences, biological diversity and survival on this planet, environmental problems associated with human habitation, and the impact of human social policies on the planetary biosphere. Students will be challenged to address current environmental problems scientifically, and then consider possible solutions. Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Fall, Spring Prerequisites: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading and acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Writing or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 0810 as determined by placement. Corequisites: ISCI 1030 Laboratory Contact Hours: 45 lecture hours, 30 lab/field hours per semester General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
