VET 150 - *Clinical Practicum I


This course provides practical experience in veterinary clinics and/or related facilities. Students will begin to apply skills developed in the classroom at assigned off-campus facilities. The student will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the facility. Students will discuss the clinical experience, medical record keeping, and hospital procedures in the classroom.

Semester Availability: (Subject to Change) Summer
Prerequisites: VET 101  with a grade of C or higher and formal acceptance to the Veterinary Technician program.
Corequisites: VET 150 Clinical
Contact Hours: 30 lecture hours, average of 120 clinical hours per semester
Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
