RPC 201 - *Fundamentals of Respiratory Care I This course includes the theory of all basic equipment excluding ventilators is presented including topics on medical gas therapy, humidity and aerosol therapy, microbiology, cleaning and sterilization, pharmacology, and physiological measurement and monitoring devices.

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Respiratory Care Program Corequisites: RPC 220 and RPC 229
Contact Hours: 45 lecture and 30 laboratory hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
