PTA 253 - *Therapeutic Applications I This course includes an Introduction to massage, body mechanics, positioning, patient transfers and management, assistive and gait devices, isolation and aseptic techniques, manual muscle testing, goniometry, gait assessment and training.

Prerequisites: PTA 110 and acceptance to the second year PTA program Contact Hours: 30 lecture and 60 laboratory hours per semester Vocational/Career Program Designation: *Designated primarily for vocational/career programs
This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but it has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
